Frangene Andrews and Samantha Roberts have teamed-up to bring the joy of theatre to young people in Marin, combining their individual skills and styles to create a unique experience for their students!
Frangene AndrewsA graduate of the San Francisco Theatre Academy, Frangene Andrews has been involved in community and professional performing arts in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 30 years. A California native, she has performed as an actor in local dramatic and musical theatre stage productions, as well as film and television. As a vocalist, Fran has been a featured soloist in numerous public productions as well as private events, and has more than a dozen voice-over credits to her name.
Fran has also worked behind the scenes in broadcast television and video production for more than 20 years. She has produced dozens of stage and video productions, and taught drama at the elementary through high school levels. In addition to performing locally and teaching with Affinity Performing Arts, Fran is an active member of the Masque Unit of Marin, a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring affordable, live theatre to the children of Marin. Fran enjoys teaching everything from traditional acting technique to improv and acting for the camera, and derives inspiration and enthusiasm from working with all ages and ranges of students. |
Samantha Roberts
Samantha Roberts is a double major in Theatre and Elementary Education at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Her theatre credits in LA include a leading role in the ROAR Network TV show "Fresh", numerous stage plays including The Icarus Project and the New Works Festival, in which she assisted in writing and designing. She is a member of the Acapella Group “The One Night Stanzas,” and has performed with various choirs and groups on LMU’s campus.
Samantha graduated with honors in Musical Theatre from Marin School of the Arts at Novato High School, and has worked on numerous stage productions throughout Marin, including assistant directing Marin Summer Theater’s recent production of Les Miserables. She has also appeared on television, and in film, commercials and music videos. After interning with the Marin Theatre Company's summer theatre camp for kids and serving for two years in MTC's Teen Advisory Board, Samantha decided to launch her own teaching career in 2012 with a six-week after school Theatre Workshop at Lu Sutton Elementary School in Novato. The workshop was a resounding success, and Samantha's interest in working with young actors was strengthened. As a 4th-year Girl Scout Camp Leader at Novato's Stafford Lake Day Camp, and a volunteer tutor and elementary school art docent, Samantha further unleashes her enthusiasm for working with kids of all ages and interests! |
